We tell you exactly how we make a living
Most travel platforms won't tell you how they make money. We will.
SharingTrip is an intermediary (a “business introducer”), not a travel agency. We make a living in two ways, depending on what you do — and in both cases, it’s shown clearly, before any payment.
1. You share an existing booking
Already booked a place to stay (Airbnb, Booking, Abritel…) for your group? Your co-travellers pay you back their share through SharingTrip, with a protected payment: the money is held safely by our payment provider and is only released after the stay.
For this coordination and secure-payment service, we charge a service fee of about 10% (excl. VAT), calculated only on the amount paid back between co-travellers — never on the price of your booking. This fee is shown separately, before you pay anything.
2. You search and compare
Looking for accommodation, an activity or transport? We redirect you to our partners (Booking.com, GetYourGuide, etc.). You pay exactly the same price as on their site, and they pay us a commission. For you, it’s free.
What this means for you
- No hidden markup on the price of your partner bookings.
- The service fee for sharing is shown clearly and separately — never a hidden percentage on your nightly rate.
- We never hold your money: it stays protected until the end of the stay, then it’s released.
Why it matters
An intermediary that earns by inflating prices has every reason to sell you something expensive. We, on the other hand, have every reason for things to go well — so you travel often and recommend us to your friends. It’s a radical alignment of interests.
