Code of Conduct

Courtesy translation — the French version prevails.
This Code of Conduct is the annex to the Terms of Use and Service (the “Terms”) of SharingTrip, of which it forms an integral part and with which it has the same contractual force. By using SharingTrip, you undertake to comply with it. It simply sets out what everyone can expect from each other — and what the platform expects from you.
1. If you organise a trip (Organiser)
- Declare accurate information: the nature of the booking, the dates, the amount actually paid and the cancellation conditions. Your co-travellers decide on the basis of what you write.
- Honour the trip: when you accept a co-traveller, a contract is formed between you (Article 6.7 of the Terms). You undertake to give them effective access to the booking, on the agreed dates.
- Give notice as early as possible: in the event of an impediment, change or cancellation, inform your group immediately — every day counts when making other arrangements.
- Reply in the chat: your co-travellers are counting on you; answer the group’s questions within a reasonable time.
- Never any payment outside the platform: all shares go through the protected payment. Never request or accept a direct settlement (cash, bank transfer, another app).
2. If you join a trip (Co-traveller)
- Respect the Organiser and the group: you are staying with other people; behave as you would want others to behave towards you.
- Pay your share through the platform, never directly: that is what triggers the protected payment (escrow) provided for in the Terms.
- Be there on the agreed dates; if you have to withdraw, give notice as early as possible to leave time for a replacement.
- Confirm the stages of the stay honestly (arrival, stay code, departure): they condition the payout to the Organiser.
3. Mutual respect and safety
No discrimination, no harassment, no violence, no unlawful content — neither in listings nor in the chat. Stay careful: you may travel with people you do not know; it is up to you to assess who you travel with, to take out appropriate insurance and to take the precautions necessary for your safety (Article 5bis.3 of the Terms).
You can report any inappropriate content or behaviour via the “Report” button available on each listing, or by writing to contact@sharingtrip.com — this is the reporting mechanism provided for by the European Digital Services Act (DSA). Every report is reviewed.
4. Graduated sanctions
In the event of a breach of this Code or of the Terms, SharingTrip applies sanctions that are graduated and proportionate to the seriousness and repetition of the facts:
- a warning;
- suspension of the publication of the trip concerned, or of the ability to publish;
- suspension, then closure of the account.
If an Organiser fails to honour a trip (no-show), the co-travellers are fully refunded the funds held in escrow (Article 6 quater of the Terms) and the frequency of the Organiser’s cancellations may be displayed on their public profile. Co-travellers also retain their ordinary-law remedies against the defaulting Organiser.
